ContestsAs part of our marketing programs, we occasionally host contests on our web site. Contest participants are asked to provide contact information (like e-mail addresses). This information is used to get in touch with the participant when necessary.
Involuntary DataWeb browsers connecting to web servers routinely reveal the IP address of your computer. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our web site.
AdvertisersWe sometimes accept advertisements from outside companies for display on our web site. These ads may contain cookies. Cookies received as part of an outside advertisement are collected by the advertising company. We do not have access to this information.
SecurityThis site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of information under our control. We take all of the necessary precautions to safeguard customer information stored electronically. In all cases, information is retained in secure facilities, protected from unauthorized access is kept only as long as is reasonably required. Security, copyright and downloading PDF documentsStandards delivered electronically in PDF format will contain security features and other restrictions in order to protect copyright. You will be required to install an Adobe Reader plug-in to activate the security features. PDF documents will be inaccessible until the plug-in is installed.
You will be sent an email with instructions on how to download your PDF document(s) and obtain the plug-in. You will only have to install the plug-in once.
Standards purchased online will be available for download up to 48 hours from the initial time of purchase. Should you miss this download window please contact IHS Canada directly for further assistance.
Viewing StandardsViewing standards in PDF Format
All standards delivered via the download option from StandardsStore.ca are saved in the Portable Document Format (PDF) with the .pdf extension. PDF is a universal standard for capturing and viewing documents in electronic form. Adobe Reader is a free program that you will need in order to view your PDF documents. The software is comptabile with several operating system platforms, including Windows, Solaris and MacIntosh.
You can obtain, or upgrade, your PDF software by visiting Adobe online.
If you experience compatiblity problems while trying to view your PDF document, you may have an older version of Adobe Reader installed. Upgrade your version, free of charge, from Adobe.
Standards delivered in Winzip format
Winzip may be used to compress PDF files (with the .zip extension) before standards are delivered to you electronically. Winzip is also used to extract PDF documents once the zipped file is delivered to you.
You can obtain, or upgrade, your Winzip software by visiting Winzip online.
CurrencyTransactions are processed in US dollars
